Bici's story starts across the state line in Nyack, N.Y., where Chef Anthony DeVanzo, a graduate of Don Bosco High School in Ramsey and Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1996. He opened Velo Bistro Wine Bar in 2008. Marcelo Gambarato, who worked his way up from waiter to co-owner of Velo, said that the huge demand from North Jersey diners led the duo to open up a restaurant in Bergen County. In 2016, the two teamed as partners to open Bici and the rest is history!
“Bici” is short for bicicletta, or bike, in Italian. Bici currently sits 52 patrons, and is bring-your-own-bottle and features a daily specials menu.
